The wires on the cord leading from the adapter to the wall were exposed within 2 months. This happened even after I got a replacement product. Today, it caught fire and zapped. My fault for having it plugged in with exposed wires, but still, this product is total and complete crap!

What can I say, it works as it should. Well... I should say the second one works. The first one I bought died after a month. It was replaced free of charge, I didnt even have to pay the shipping. Payed about $10.00 for it on ebay.

I purchased this to replace my original ac adapter for a Vostro 1000. It worked okay for about 2 months and then got a short and stopped working. Just a warning, this item has a loose attachment that constantly falls out even with the slightest movement. The price was low, so I guess you get what you pay for.

This adapter is VERY poorly designed, its manufacture quality is absolutely sub-par, and I'm afraid to continue using it on my Inspiron 1501 for fear of destroying my laptop. After four months of relatively low use, the insulating casing has detached from the housing, exposing wires, the adapter itself started making irregular buzzing sounds, and it gets to intolerable heat level. Dell costumer support was 100% clueless about any such problem, or how to remedy the situation.
Dell sold the product, but has no expertise in the item. They wasted thirty minutes of my time asking for order numbers, etc. when all I wanted to know is if it's supposed to get VERY hot during use.
I highly recommend NOT ordering this item. It's C#@P! I'd give it a "no star" rating, but that's not allowed...

Do not buy this item! After approximately 1 month of use, I have the same screen flickering problem as many others have described. This product is now useless and must be replaced.
