 Great, but in dvd format... March 26, 2007
I think we have all the Mei Mei dvd's, and I am so glad that they finally put them on dvd's. On the dvd's, you can pick out the section that you would like to review, etc. Mei Mei does a great job teaching the kids, and she repeats it a lot for kids to learn.
There is also a Mei Mei cd with her songs on them. We downloaded the songs onto the kids music player, and they can now listen to it whenever they want. The songs are very catchy.
I cannot say enough good things about the Mei Mei series! My kids have definitely learned some Chinese from them.
Also, the Follow Jade dvd's are great. There are two, one going to Kindergarten, and one going to the market. Only thing is that she teaches you the name of the fruits, but doesn't teach you how to ask for it in a sentence. Hope she expands on that with more dvd's.
Plus, we also bought this gorgerous "ASIAN AMERICAN BERENGUER GIRL DOLL" from EBAY, and my daughter absolutely loves to play with the beautiful doll and watch her Chinese dvd's.

I realy loved Mei Mei's first video and thought I would love this one, but it is too slow. The words just are not natural sounding. Like teaching someone to say cat, by teaching them, "cccaaaattt" I think saying it once slow is enough, but she needed to say it normally as well so that someone doesn't ty speaking like that. It was kind of a joke at our home to go around speaking like Mei Mei. However, for someone just begining who has never once heard spoken chinese, it would not be bad. For video #3 though, it needs to be faster.

Mei Mei's done it yet again!This volume is just as fun and interesting as her other two! Her unique teaching style makes it impossible Not to learn Mandarin!I was Thrilled when I found that she not only made a second volume but a Third one as well!!! My girls (ages 2 and 6 ) and I Love learning with Mei Mei!Mei Mei's Many years of teaching Mandarin are very apparent in these videos that she has made. She combines a perfect blend of songs and dance and "repetition" which I believe is key to learning a second language and at the same time she makes the learning experience Easy and Fun.Since I am an adoptive mom, I was especially touched when I learned that Mei Mei and her husband also adopted a child from China and I love seeing Tian Tian's Happy and Beautiful face in the videos!

My daughters love the Mei Mei tapes, and Volume 3 lives up to the high standards set by Volumes 1 & 2. I purchased the Mei Mei tapes so that my daughters, who were born in China, could become familiar with the tones and sounds of Chinese while we wait for them to be old enough to attend our local Chinese school. We love learning to say the names of foods and drinks and also to sing the songs. With the pinyin displayed on the screen and the handy finger pointer to indicate the tone, it is very easy to pick up. I'm so happy that we found Mei Mei!

I highly recommend all 3 of the videos-- "Play and Learn Chinese with Mei Mei". All are excellent. Our 6 yr. old, Jade, was chosen to be "Child of the Week" in her kindergarten class and they studied China. She took these videos to share with her class along with her baby photos etc. Her whole class was able to enjoy, learn, and participate in the activities with the children on the video. They are fun at home AND to share!
